Acceptance of Terms

By using OpenSend, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the application.

License

OpenSend is free, open-source software released under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 (AGPL-3.0). You may use, modify, and distribute it under the terms of that license. The source code is available on GitHub.

No Liability for Transferred Content

OpenSend is a tool for transferring files between devices. We do not review, monitor, or endorse any content transferred through the service. You are solely responsible for the files you send and receive. We are not liable for any content transmitted through OpenSend.

No Warranty

OpenSend is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. The authors are not liable for any damages arising from its use. You use the software at your own risk.

Data Responsibility

You are responsible for downloading and backing up your files before Cloud Transfer expiry. Cloud transfer files are automatically deleted after 24 hours and cannot be recovered. Direct transfers are not stored on our servers. The authors are not responsible for data loss resulting from expired transfers, failed downloads, or user error.

Service Availability

OpenSend is hosted on Vercel and may experience downtime for maintenance or unforeseen issues. No uptime guarantee is provided. The open-source codebase can be self-hosted independently at any time. Direct (peer-to-peer) transfers do not depend on our servers once the connection is established.

User Conduct

You agree not to use OpenSend to share or distribute:

  • Malware, viruses, or malicious software
  • Illegal content or materials
  • Content that infringes on others' intellectual property
  • Personal data of others without their consent

Service Limits

  • Maximum file size: 50 MB per file (cloud transfer)
  • Maximum files per batch: 20 files
  • Cloud transfer storage: 24-hour automatic expiry
  • Guest session rate limit: 5 sessions per minute

Direct (peer-to-peer) transfers are not subject to file size limits imposed by our servers, but may be limited by browser and network capabilities.

Changes to Terms

These terms may be updated from time to time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. Material changes will be noted by updating the "Last updated" date.
